Jolarpet, the nearest railway station, has many trains passing through its junction from Bangalore, Coimbatore and Chennai. From Jolarpet, you can take a cab or get on the bus and head for the hills.
In case you decide to drive down from Bangalore, take the Bangalore – Chennai highway. Your route will be Hosur – Krishnagiri – Vaniyambadi circle– at the circle follow the board indicating ‘Elagiri’.
Driving from Chennai, follow the Chennai – Bangalore highway that takes you through Sriperambadur, Vellore, Ambur, Vaniyambadi circle. At the circle follow the board pointing to Elagiri.
Seven kilometers from this circle is Ponneri, the foot of the hill. Take a left turn and climb the 14 hair pin bend ghat section. On reaching Yelagiri keep moving on the main road that passes through the market area and continues towards Mangalam Village. Just a kilometer away from the market next to the government boy’s hostel, the road turns right. This road leads you into ‘Manjankolaipudur’. Follow the name boards, along the way, to your destination. |
